Watermelon Gratitude - Shayminby =johwee

Artisan Crafts / Culinary Arts / Pumpkin Carving

For what is likely my last watermelon of the year, I present Shaymin, in Land and Sky varieties, for

! For my 30k Kiriban, she asked for Shaymin, and couldn't decide which forme. So I did both! I hope you like it!

I actually really prefer Land-forme, but it's really not the best shape for my type of carving. But once I added in Sky-forme, the whole thing came together nicely. This is probably one of my favorite watermelons to date!

So the flowers in red? Those are totally apples

While I was still working out the design, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how I was going to do the flowers to make them stand out. I finally gave up and decided to just shade them differently. Then it hit me right in the middle of carving that they needed to be apples, and I ran out to the store and bought them. I love how it came out, and I wish the pictures did it justice.

I also just want to thank everyone who's come by my page! I appreciate every single favorite, comment, and watcher, even if I'm a bum and don't get around to replying to everything. You guys are really why I keep carving so many of these dang things every year, and I love you for it! Thanks so much for the 30,000 views!
