EDIT: I've never done this before but I was really disappointed with how this picture had turned out so I tried again and got some much better shots. So I've updated this with the newer version. Hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone who favorited the first one!
That red hair is one of my brilliant carving moments that really didn't show up as well in the dark photos. I wanted it to stand out since Kvothe's hair stands out in the books, but knew that shading wouldn't cut it. But then I was like, what if I used some red food colouring? And it turned out to be the perfect solution. I probably won't use it too much since it gets away from what I believe a jack-o-lantern is in essence, but for special occasions it's a perfect little highlight.
Despite taking 9 hours, I really enjoyed carving this one. I got to reminisce about the books and remember all the awesomeness. I really want to reread them but it'll probably end up waiting til next year since I want to read new stuff for the rest of the year.
