Shining Chandelure Pumpkinby =johwee

Artisan Crafts / Culinary Arts / Pumpkin Carving

A Saturday carving, at last! I've kept running into weird problems on Saturdays this year, but I'm finally back in the groove. Which is good, since Halloween is creeping up on us...

So yup, carved another Chandelure. The last time I carved one, it was before Black and White had come out in the US. It's since become one of my favorite pokemon, and my dream is to catch and train a shiny one someday! Until then I'll have to make due with shiny pumpkin Chandelure.

I actually carved this to use as my icon on Facebook, as an elaborate joke to play on everyone who's been bugging me to get a real picture instead of a pokemon. It turned out to be a more difficult design than planned, but it all worked out with minimal breakage. There's actually a bunch of cool gradients in the shading that doesn't show up too well on camera, dang.

Judging by the amount of curves and overlapping details in the design, this must have been pretty difficult to carve. Fantastic work - I especially love the effects of the flames.
