Double Shaymin Watermelon Lit by johwee Double Shaymin Watermelon Lit by johwee
And the lit up version of my kiriban watermelon for :iconcrayon-chewer:!

You can really see the awesome apple action in this version. And the green just matches Shaymin so well. I said all the important stuff on the dark version, so I am out of things to say.

Thanks again for 30,000 views!

Kind of. It wouldn't be green for one, and I think that's one of the main effects. The shading would be a lot harder too, since you don't have that same super thin layer like on land!Shaymin's back. And layered shading on pumpkins is a pain in the ass to do that extensively, I know since I spent 7 hours on it last night. But if you really wanted to try, you could do it.

That's just so.... WOW! How do you make those thin style cuts so that you can't see the middle but you still get light through... I've surfed the internet but I can't find anything! I really need to make my halloween pumpkin this year special but I'm not sure where to start.....

If you're referring to the shading, I posted a short description here: [link] Sorry it's a little late for Halloween, I've had a huge backlog of comments to go through.

Why thank you :D It's quite arrogant of me, but a carving like this just makes me want to be all like "Yeah, I know."

Ahhhhh I still can't get over how awesome this turned out! I really can't decide which version I like better, so I'm totally going to fave both! :XD:

I felt bad for being so indecisive about which Shaymin Forme would look better carved, but for once I'm glad I didn't decide! An amazing watermelon from an amazing carver! And you just keep getting better and better! May you get another 30K views... and more! You deserve it! :iconshayminlaplz:

Somedays I wish I had a brain camera, so I could post what these things truly look like when they're lit up. Cause you just get the perfect lighting but can still catch all the outside details. Maybe I just suck at photography...

Anyway, I'm glad I decided to go with both formes too! It turned out much better then what I had originally planned for just land forme :D

I totally wish brain cameras were real! Sometimes cameras just don't capture the true essence and colors of things!

I would have loved to have seen this in real life to see the TRUE EPIC-NESS OF IT ALL. :D

Oh my... This is the most awesome watermelon I have ever seen!!
I've never even got the idea to try that out myself but I think that would be fun. Good work :D
btw, do you draw on the watermelon before you cut it out? just curious ^^

I usually trace out the pattern on the watermelon with transfer paper before I start carving. I've done freehand in the past, but it's kind of a pain.
