Yay pony pumpkins! I wasn't sure I was going to make one this year, since I'm actually a few weeks behind on the show. But then I was spoiled on episode 18 and knew that I had to carve the CMC!
I wanted to enter the EQD contest, but I'm actually way behind on my pumpkins this year. Just been busy with work, had some problems with rot, etc. So last night I finished a different pumpkin, and it's midnight, and the deadline is in 12 hours. And in the spirit of Pumpkin Madness I said yolo and started on this monster! It then took 8 and a half hours to carve, meaning I finished way after dawn and had to change my whole photo setup. And while I usually upload my pumpkins in the order I carved them, I rushed this one through first so it would be on time for the contest. I made it but I'm seriously sleep deprived xD
So Cutie Mark Crusaders! I ended up being spoiled on episode 18 because of fanart on the front page, which was kind of disappointing. But the episode itself still made me cry! I'm so happy for them ;_; This pattern used a couple of vectors, the CMC are from Reginault and the cutie mark background was compiled with vectors made by KyssS90! I got really lucky and the pumpkin itself ended up helping with the shading. The left and right sides are actually shaded to the same depth but because the pumpkin has an underlayer of green on the left it ended up looking darker. Totally unexpected but awesome nonetheless!

Holy Celestia! That's AWESOME!!!!! I tried to make a Pikachu pumpkin using the technique you did to make the Shield behind the CMC.... It looked TERRIBLE looking at yours.
